National/Online Resources
LD Online: A website on LD and ADHD with information for parents and educators including articles on research based instructional practices.
Understood.org: An online resource for parents to find answers and get advice from experts. Offers an online community for parents as well as Webinars and Expert Chats.
Wrights Law for Special Education Law and Advocacy: A website about special education law and advocacy, with thousands of articles, cases, and free resources.
Local Resources
Support for Families of Children with Disabilities: Information, education workshops, support groups, and parent-to-parent advocacy support free of charge to families.
Inclusive Schools Group: A consortium of Bay Area K-12 schools that support children who learn differently. They also host online events for families seeking an inclusive school for their child.
Independent Living Resource Center of San Francisco: Information and referrals for Assistive Technology. Also, maintains an assistive technology lending library and provides advocacy for people with disabilities.
Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS): Volunteer run sailing program for adults and children with disabilities.
Community Alliance for Special Education (CASE): Free individual technical assistance, consultations, representation, and training through their network of educational and legal specialists. Supports families by going with them to IEP meetings as a primary service.
