Continued Guidance as Your Child Grows & Develops
Receive expert support as you implement recommendations, navigate transitions, or face new challenges after your child's evaluation.
While the initial parent feedback meeting provides comprehensive information and recommendations, many families benefit from additional guidance as they:
Implement strategies at home and monitor progress
Navigate school transitions (elementary to middle school, middle to high school)
Address emerging challenges or changing needs
Prepare for significant milestones (e.g., college applications)
Refine approaches as your child develops
Our follow-up consultations ensure that your child's evaluation remains a living, evolving resource that continues to inform and guide your parenting approach as circumstances change.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The timing varies based on your needs. Some families schedule a follow-up a few months after the evaluation to check in on implementation of recommendations. Others wait until a transition point or when new challenges arise. There's no "right" timeline—it depends entirely on your family's specific situation.
-
Absolutely. We maintain comprehensive records and can review your child's previous evaluation even years later. For evaluations completed more than three years ago, we may recommend bringing recent school reports or other updated information to help us understand your child's current functioning.
-
The initial feedback meeting presents comprehensive evaluation results and general recommendations. Follow-up consultations are more targeted, addressing specific questions, challenges, or changes that have emerged since the evaluation. They allow for refinement of strategies based on your actual experiences implementing them.
-
For many families, a single focused consultation provides the guidance needed for their current situation. Others benefit from periodic check-ins, especially around key transitions or developmental milestones. We can help you determine whether regular consultations would be beneficial for your family.
-
Yes, with your permission, we welcome collaboration with other professionals in your child's life. Including teachers, therapists, or other service providers can foster a coordinated approach. If you'd like to include others, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
-
To make the most of our time together, consider:
Noting specific questions or concerns you want to address
Reflecting on what strategies have worked well and which haven't
Gathering recent school reports, progress notes, or other relevant documents
Thinking about any significant changes in your child's environment or development
Identifying upcoming transitions or decisions you're facing

Whenever possible, yes. We prioritize continuity of care and strive to connect you with the clinician who already knows your child. In cases where that's not possible (due to scheduling conflicts or staff changes), another experienced clinician on our team will thoroughly review your child's evaluation before meeting with you.
