We offer IQ testing in San Francisco and in Berkeley. Pick the location that is easiest for your family.
1. Choose the test your child needs
Based on your child's age and any requirements from the school or program you are applying to. If you are not sure, the guide below can help, or call us at 415-598-8378.
3. Choose your clinician or look for the soonest opening.
Once the booking page opens, you will see a list of practitioners. Select the clinician you would like to work with, or select "No Preference" at the top of the list to see the earliest available appointment across everyone who offers that test.
Looking for the soonest possible appointment?
Choose "No Preference" at the top of the practitioner list. The system will then show you every open slot for that test at that location, so you are not limited to one clinician's calendar. If you have a school deadline coming up, this is the fastest way to get on the schedule.
Please book only one appointment for your child at a time, and enter your child's name when you register, along with your email and phone number.
Which Test Does My Child Need?
Most families are directed to a specific test by the school or program they are applying to. If you have that requirement in hand, follow it. If you do not, here is how the tests differ.

| WPPSI-IV | 3 to 5 | The Wechsler test for preschool and early elementary applicants. |
| WISC-V | 6 to 16 | The most commonly requested test for gifted programs and private school admissions. |
| WAIS-IV | 16 and up | The Wechsler test for older teens and adults. |
| Stanford-Binet-V | Varies, San Francisco only | An alternative for children who have already completed part or all of a Wechsler test in the past twelve months. The SB-V has no timed sections and extends into adulthood, so it can be a better fit for a child who does not do their best work under time pressure, or who needs a test with a very high ceiling. |

The Stanford-Binet-V is offered in San Francisco only.
Fees and Testing Days Vary by Clinician
Each clinician's testing days and fee are listed below their photo. Please book only one appointment for your child at a time, and enter your child's name when you register, along with your email and phone number.
When booking, the system will prompt you to enter a credit card and pay a $10 deposit to hold your testing appointment. The remaining balance is due in advance, or you can bring payment with you on the day of the appointment.
If you prefer to pay by check or Zelle, please pay in advance:
Checks should be made out to Mind Matters and mailed to 721 Monterey Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94127.
Zelle payments should be sent to billing@sfmindmatters.com.
Please note: If we have not received payment on the day of testing, we will charge the card on file.
