  • Rebecca thrives on collaboration and creative problem-solving, making her a strong advocate and partner in IEP/504 and private school support team meetings.

  • Her theater background allows her to meet children where they are—whether they’re shy, silly, or skeptical—creating a safe, authentic assessment space.

  • As both a clinician and a parent, she brings warmth, insight, and dedication to helping families navigate the often-overwhelming journey of understanding and supporting their children.

“I do this work to help parents truly see and understand their child, and for the child to better understand themselves. Whether it’s a parent learning how to support their child’s unique learning profile, or a teen discovering how their brain works best, I want each client to walk away with more clarity, more confidence, and a renewed sense of possibility.”

- Rebecca MurrayMetzger

Rebecca MurrayMetzger is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in providing comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults, with a particular focus on school-based collaboration, gifted and twice-exceptional learners, and those navigating learning differences.

Rebecca brings a question-centered, strength-based approach to her assessments, working closely with families, educators, and children to uncover not only challenges but meaningful insights that guide support and growth.

Rebecca also assesses children and teens experiencing ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, and those in need of parent support. She particularly enjoys working with children who are struggling in school and middle or high schoolers seeking to better understand themselves. She also offers IQ Testing for school admissions and Parent Guidance Consultations for parents who know their child needs support, but aren't sure if an evaluation is the right next step.

With over 20 years of experience in the field, Rebecca earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard College in Women’s Studies and Psychology and her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Wright Institute, an APA-accredited program. Her clinical training includes a predoctoral internship at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Boston, where she led a multidisciplinary assessment team, and a postdoctoral fellowship at North Shore Children’s Hospital in Salem, MA, focused exclusively on neurodevelopmental evaluations.

Rebecca's assessments are collaborative and compassionate, designed to reflect the voices of the parents, teachers, and the child themselves. Her hope is that parents walk away with a deeper understanding of their child and how to best support them, and that kids and teens gain meaningful insight into their own learning profiles, strengths, and needs.

Outside of her clinical work, Rebecca draws from her background in theater to connect with children in intuitive and engaging ways during evaluations, helping them feel safe and capable of giving their best effort. As a parent herself, she brings deep empathy and personal understanding to her work with families. In her free time, she enjoys returning to her favorite pastimes like hiking, skiing, swing dancing, and organizing community events in San Francisco, where she lives with her family.
