Marianne's 18 years of experience working directly in schools gives her an insider's perspective on educational supports and what implementation actually looks like "on the ground."
Her ability to engage comfortably with students across a wide spectrum of needs—from cognitive impairments to giftedness to emotional regulation challenges—allows her to adapt her assessment approach to each child's unique profile.
Marianne's practical knowledge of 504 Plans and IEPs translates into recommendations that are not just theoretically sound but feasible and effective within real-world classroom settings.
"I enjoy working one-on-one with children and seeing how they interact with their world, how they approach tasks, and learning about their personalities. I hope that families come away from the assessment with an understanding of the strengths that their child has and why certain things can be challenges, and with confidence in the support plan moving forward."
- Marianne Peirce
As a Licensed Educational Psychologist, I am passionate about helping families better understand the unique abilities (and needs) of their child through comprehensive and strengths-based assessments.
With 18 years of experience working directly in schools at both the elementary and high school levels, Marianne brings an invaluable insider's perspective to her assessments, understanding not only how to identify learning differences but also how to effectively implement supports within real-world educational settings.
Marianne's child-centered approach creates a comfortable environment where children ages 4-18 can demonstrate their true capabilities. Parents describe her as kind, patient, and understanding, with a thorough approach that leaves no stone unturned. Her extensive classroom experience allows her to recognize patterns in learning and behavior that might be missed by those with less school-based experience.
Beyond her core specialties, Marianne assesses children experiencing dysgraphia, ADHD, dyscalculia, and anxiety across elementary, middle, and high school ages. Her wide-ranging experience with diverse learning needs—from cognitive impairments to giftedness to significant emotional regulation challenges—gives her a comprehensive understanding of how different learning profiles present and overlap.
What truly distinguishes Marianne's work is her deep knowledge of educational systems and available supports. Having spent nearly two decades within school settings, she understands the nuances of 504 Plans and IEPs from the inside out—what works, what doesn't, and how to effectively advocate for appropriate accommodations. This practical knowledge proves invaluable to parents navigating what can often feel like an overwhelming educational bureaucracy.
Marianne's assessments focus on understanding both the child's strengths and the constellation of challenges they face, providing a framework that makes sense of why certain tasks might be difficult while others come naturally. Her reports translate complex findings into actionable recommendations that can be realistically implemented at home and school.
Throughout the assessment process, Marianne enjoys working one-on-one with children, observing how they interact with their world, approach tasks, and express their unique personalities. Her aim is for families to complete the evaluation with a clear understanding of their child's profile and confidence in the support plan moving forward.
Outside of her clinical work, Marianne stays busy with her own children (ages 6 and 9), enjoys cooking, discovering new audiobooks, traveling when possible, hiking with her dog, practicing tennis, and connecting with friends.
